The Bluebird
About This Spot
Walking into The Bluebird feels like stepping into a corner of Clarksburg where time slows down just enough for meaningful connections to take root. Situated right on W Main Street, this charming hybrid of a restaurant, deli, and grocery store offers a slice of everyday life that blends the practical with the comforting. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with the steady hum of conversation mingling with the warm smells of home-cooked favorites wafting from the kitchen.
This isn’t a place hurried or polished for the passerby; instead, it’s a steady local hub where you can find familiar smiles alongside down-to-earth service that can sometimes surprise you with its candidness. The deli area, tucked toward the back, is a welcoming retreat from the bustle outside, featuring simple, soulful meals that resonate with the comfort of home. Whether you’re settling in with a hot bowl of soup on a cool day or grabbing a hearty sandwich to go, the food feels thoughtfully prepared to fit the rhythm of the neighborhood.
The grocery side of The Bluebird anchors it firmly in everyday life, stocking essentials and snacks that locals rely on, making it a natural stop whether you’re lingering for a bite or just picking up what you need. There’s a genuine sense of history here, a feeling that the place is rooted in its community, where familiar names and faces are part of the daily backdrop.
It’s in the little touches—the friendly greetings from the cashier, the quiet camaraderie among regulars, and those pockets of comfort like their special fried chicken and occasional meatloaf dinners—that reveal the heart of The Bluebird. The pace is unhurried, the mood honest, and each visit feels like encountering a space shaped by years of local stories and shared moments.

Good food, friendly, local. The convenient store side is average on prices. However they are locally owned. The owner often seems rude, depending on how you're dressed. He seems very judgemental based on peoples appearances.

The only reason I can't give a 5 star review is cuz I can't get mozzarella sticks when I want them during the day. There's only about a 30 minute window when they're usually available and they won't keep or turn a fryer on to make some in the 1-2 hours before or after that certain window. Other than that, this place is amazing.

Great place to stop by for lunch when you’re in town. Prices on snacks are reasonable for a convenience store. Staff were kind and helped me figure out what I wanted, especially since it was my first time at the restaurant.

The cashier Josie is so friendly and the best…she brings so much to the store! The meatloaf dinner is to die for….me and my husband think they should offer meatloaf dinner every single day lol! Prices are always great! Wish they stayed open all weekend and later during the week! We always go to bluebird if it’s open…I won’t go to any other store!

This is a great store if you're in the downtown Clarksburg area. There's a conventional convenience store with drinks, snacks, tobacco products, and hygiene products up front. In the rear there's a hot deli with indoor seating and a games room. I haven't personally tried the hot food yet but I've heard nothing but good things, especially regarding their signature fried chicken which they are locally famous for.

People are always so nice and pleasant. Cashiers even offer to open and close door becuz I have a small baby hands are always full. Chicken is always to die for although it's so much better when it's fresh.

My wife and I moved to this area almost a year now, so we like to try new food places and see how the atmosphere and history of some of the places we have visited are so today we decided to go to the blue bird for breakfast so here we are .also thank you for the great greeting from Amy one of the employees we met this morning. Thank you for your hospitality we will definitely be back.
